Efficiency Medal, G.VI.R., 2nd issue, Territorial (2577135 Sigmn. A. R. Greenhalgh, R. Sigs.) extremely fine £50-70

Alfred Robertson Greenhalgh was born on 1 September 1919. Living at “Brooklands’, Old Hall Lane, Rhodes, Manchester and a Sorting Clerk with the G.P.O., he enlisted into the Army on 1 September 1939. Serving with the 4th Indian Division Signals, he was taken prisoner at Tobruk in June 1942. He was held in the Italian P.O.W. camp P.G.70, September 1942-September 1943 and in the German camp Stalag IVC, September 1943-May 1945 - in the latter work camp he was employed in coal-mining. Sold with copied ex-P.O.W. questionnaire.
