Alan Bridger served with both the Hampshire Regiment and Machine Gun Corps during the Great War (not entitled to the Victory Medal), and was awarded his Territorial Efficiency Medal per Army Order 431 of November 1924. Transferring to the Regular Army, he was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal per Amy Order 79 of April 1938.
