George III (1760-1820), Soho Mint, Birmingham, Pattern Halfpenny, 1797 (early Soho), by C.H. Küchler, in copper, laureate bust right, 2 berries in wreath, ermined fold of drapery flush, rev. Britannia seated left, soho and triangle of dots on rock, ship with 3 stays from foremast to bowsprit, edge plain, 13.98g/6h (BMC 1157 [KH 7]; ‘Selig’ 1375). Some light spotting on obverse, otherwise brilliant and virtually as struck, rare [certified and graded NGC PF 64 BN] £400-£500
