Zélie Agnew resided at St. Clair, Bedhampton Hill, Havant. She enlisted as a Nurse in the Voluntary Aid Detachment in May 1915, and initially served at Bagthorpe (Military) Hospital, Nottinghamshire. Agnew served in the French theatre of war, March - December 1916, before serving at Richmond (Military) Hospital. She served in the Salonika theatre of war, 7 March 1918 - 16 April 1919.
