6 clasps, Cape Colony, Tugela Heights, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal, Laing’s Nek (Maj., Bethune M.I.) C.C. and O.F.S. clasps contemporary tailors copies; King’s South Africa 1901-02, 2 clasps (Lt. Col., 7/Hrs.); British War and Victory Medals (Bt. Col.) nearly extremely fine (2) £300-350

Colonel R. L. Walter was first employed with the Remounts and Bethune’s Mounted Infantry; commanded 7th (Queen’s Own) Hussars 23 January to 31 May 1902 and during the Great War served initially with the Hampshire Yeomanry, later transferring back to the 7th Hussars. Sold with copy of m.i.c. and confirmation of Q.S.A. clasp entitlement.
