MILITARY GENERAL SERVICE 1793-1814, 3 clasps, Salamanca, Pyrenees, Toulouse (John Squance, 11th Foot), in card box of issue with contemporary ribbon sewn with a button hole, nearly extremely fine

The 'Bloody Eleventh' earned their soubriquet at the battle of Salamanca where they suffered casualties amounting to 45 killed and 296 wounded. Only 62 men lived to claim the clasp to their M.G.S. medal.
