Naval General Service 1793-1840, 1 clasp, Hebrus with L’Etoile (James James) minor edge bruises, otherwise good very fine £1000-1200

Ex Whalley Collection 1887.

James James is confirmed on the roll as an Able Seaman aboard H.M.S.
Hebrus at the capture of the French frigate L’Etoile off the Channel Islands on 27 March 1814, for which 40 clasps were issued. One other man with these names is shown on the Admiralty roll, entitled to Syria.
