Great war Trench Art, in the form of a brass shield, 14cm by 13cm, inscribed ‘In loving memory of 11087 Pte. Newbery, R.G., killed in action 3.3.1916, France’, with applied Middlesex Regiment cap badge and small glass panel containing photograph of recipient, the picture very faded, otherwise good condition £30-40

Private Robert George Newberry was born in Membury, Devon and enlisted at Axminster, Devon. He was killed in action France and Flanders 3 March 1916 whilst serving with the 11th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment.
