Private Peter Quinn served in Havelock’s Relief Force and was subsequently besieged at Lucknow, where he died on 26 October 1857. A note on the medal roll states ‘Medal & clasp re-issued 16.5.06’, no doubt as a result of a claim by his family in light of the approaching 50th anniversary of the Indian Mutiny.
