Army of India 1799-1826, 2 clasps, Nepaul, Ava (Surgn. Jas. Grierson.) short hyphen reverse, officially impressed naming, extremely fine £1200-1400

James Grierson was born on 15 October 1786 and qualified as M.R.C.S. in 1808. He was appointed Assistant Surgeon on the Bengal Establishment on 24 March 1808, becoming Surgeon on 17 March 1823. He retired on 18 November 1829, and died at Beech Hill, Haddington, on 14 September 1861. He served as a Field Surgeon in the campaigns in Nepaul and Burma (Despatches
London Gazette 25 December 1825).
