Medaille Militaire London Gazette 24 February 1916. The D.C.M. and Medaille Militaire are both believed to have been awarded for Gallipoli.

Arthur John Ryan was born on 29 January 1883. He served in the ranks 16 years 328 days; Warrant Officer Class 2 for 3 years 363 days; Staff Sergeant Major 20 June 1922; 1st Class S.S.M. 27 March 1926. Awarded the M.B.E. (Military) in 1926.
